Oktoberfest kicks off today in Windhoek and has been taken full ownership of by Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL).
The 61st Windhoek Oktoberfest is to operate on a mostly cashless basis this year, where one will buy a card, top it up at the event and simply tap the card at the different vendors, to transact.
Oktoberfest is a much-anticipated cultural event on the annual calendar of local as well as international attendees.
The beer bar also been extended by 10 meters, while the two traditional bars are complemented with two additional bars, as well as a beer trailer. Oktoberfest hosts traditional games for all ages on Saturday, as well as good traditional Bavarian cuisine.
Entertainment for this year includes the Kirchdorfer band from Germany, as well as special guest band, the Jaegermeister Band, among others. Head to the SKW, the host venue for Oktoberfest for food galore, enough to tame everyone’s palates.
