Dr. Immolatrix Linda Geingos, Namibia’s Deputy Permanent Delegate to UNESCO, has attained of her PhD on 15 July 2019 from the University of Sheffield, England, UK.
Her thesis “The Role of Law in Sustainable Biodiversity” examines how the law can be harnessed to promote the objective of a knowledge-based economy through the sustainable use of plant biotechnology.
This subject is internationally relevant and contributes to the body of scientific knowledge in many fundamental ways.
Further congratulations are in order to Dr. Shamani-Jeffrey Shikwambi for his appointment as the Dean: Academics at the Dawson Community College, Montana, USA.
Dr Shikwambi has more than 10 years’ experience of lecturing and management if academic departments. The Executive Director from the Office of the Judiciary, Mrs. Rolanda van Wyk was recently appointed to the Executive Board of the International Association for Court Administration (IACA) as the Vice President (VP) for Sub‐Saharan Africa.
Van wyk’s prestigious appointment comes at a time when judicial administration on the continent is in dire need of reform, such that will ensure a system of efficient and effective administration of justice, not only in Namibia, but in SADC and Sub‐Saharan Africa as a whole.
As the first Namibian and first female to hold this position, van Wyk’s predecessor as Vice President for Africa was South African Simon Jiyane.
