NASE logo designers to be rewarded

The group of youths who helped in designing the National Annual Sport Expo (NASE) logo, will be rewarded during the official inauguration of the first ever sport expo set for next week.
The Minister of Sport, Erastus Uutoni made this remark on Tuesday during a press briefing where FNB Marketing Executive, Tracy Eagles presented a N$150 000 cheque as part of funds raised for the inauguration.
During the briefing Uutoni started by acknowledging the committee and FNB Namibia for ensuring the project was moving in the right direction.
“Thanks to the committee under the leadership of Freddy Mwiya for making sure everything is now possible, Also thanks to FNB for realising the importance of this project. On the first day that we launched this project we only managed to raise N$2 600, but now I’m happy to announce that we have received pledges totalling N$360 000.
This is the amount I have been dreaming about and now is here.
On the 14th of this month’s when the President will launch the event, we are going to give money to the youth who designed the logo,” said Uutoni.
He further urged those to be rewarded on the 14th to come up with an idea to start up a real business that will help them develop.
He also revealed that, they had another project in store that would be launched soon.
“Our next project will be to establish a sport museum. We are already busy with the concept and we will provide more information soon,” he said
Meanwhile, FNB Namibia marketing executive marketing Tracy Eagles said FNB was eager to help funding the project.
“This project is very exciting and if we can encourage professional sport in Namibia and the youth to take up sport, we can start to build a nation and make a change.
We challenge other corporates in Namibia to also come on board. This is not an FNB initiative, but a national initiative,” she added.
The inauguration of the first ever Sport Expo is to be launched next week by President Dr. Hage Geingob.
