Kylie vs The Egg

The Kar-Jenner clan is known for breaking the internet with news about their business ventures, social media stunts and personal/family drama.

Its no eggsaggeration that an egg had us all cracking this past week by being the most liked picture on Instagram with currently 40 million likes and counting.
This comes as a shock after Kylie Jenner was ranked as the ‘grammer with the most liked picture in 2018 with 18 million likes.

The picture that got her these staggering numbers is the picture of her adorable baby girl Stormi-Webster’s tiny’s hand clenching her mother-Kylie Jenner’s thumb. Kylie posted this picture after keeping the media in the dark about her pregnancy with Stormi. This post was her birth announcement.

The picture of the egg was posted on the Instagram account @world_record_egg with the caption “Let’s set a world record together and get the most liked post on Instagram. Beating the current world record held by Kylie Jenner (18 million)! We got this”.

The caption is a clear indication that the aim of the creation of the account and subsequently the picture was to surpass Kylie Jenner and it did not come as a challenge at all.

The picture beat the world record, got verified and scored 5.7 million followers after spending only 11 days on the very popular social media platform.

In an email to a newspaper outlet in the United States of America, the managers of the account said they live in London and call themselves the ‘Egg Gang’.

They further said the idea for this came when one of the members was reading the list of ‘the top 20 Instagram posts of 2018’ and all they wanted to do was to see if they could break the world record with something as basic as an egg.

Kylie did not take the defeat lightly. She responded by posting a video of her cracking an egg on hot pavement with the caption “Take that little egg”.

This proves that anything can go viral. What’s next?
