Red Bull Music festival, a first for Namibia will celebrate the heroes of African music on 27 October at the Windhoek Showgrounds. GinaJeanz who was the first Namibian Dj to grace the stage at the famous #rockingthedaisies# in South Africa in 2017 will be a headline artist during the festival.
GinaJeanz’ futuristic approach to her music has been putting her on the radar in the South African music circles as she has also graced the Red Bull Music stage before. She shared the stage with South African artists Skepta, Shekinah and Langa Mavuso but to name a few.
Her forward thinking sound, with a blend of synths, bass and vocals chops is said to be one that sets the tone for a one of kind set at African Beats.
Another headline artist who will also be gracing the stage during the festival is Shekhinah who’s pop / Rnb Sound has been making waves all over South Africa.
Shekhinah has bagged 3 SAMA’s including Best album Best Newcomer and Female Artist of the year and is said to be a true testament to the future of African music from her feature with industry heavy weight Black Coffee on his single ‘’Your Eyes’ to her diamond certified single ‘Suited’. Without a doubt, Shekhinah is said to paving the way for the next generation of female Stars.
Chin Chilla a member of the Trio KFC Dj’s has earned his stripes on the Dj Circuit and he will be performing his unique music selection that sets the tone for a one of kind show.
CUP, a two man team will also bring the heat during the festival as they have manage to do both on stage and in the studio. This is after giving Namibians the unforgettable ‘Heavy Friday’ which placed them at the top of the charts while also taking the award for Best House song at the Namas in 2018 for their track ‘Pangaman’.
DJ Alu who is a pinnacle figure in the Dj community, a well versed resident at Club London will bring his energetic and versatile style of mixing as well.
His style has been described by many as having the ability to keep any crowd on its feet.
DJ Pierce who is no stranger at the famous Club Vibe will also be bringing his ability to bring the crowd together during the festival with his signature sound.
Kp Illest who has had a very impressive music growth after having opened for Black Eyes Peas in 2011 and winning a NAMA award for Best Song with a message in 2016 will also be sharing the stage with Lioness. The two of them have worked well together over the years.
Lioness has been making waves in the industry by cementing her status in the male dominated industry that is Hip Hop. The rapper has brought a refreshing sound to her industry often embracing her heritage and infusing modern hip hop with a tangy twist of old school .
No stranger to Hip Hop, Skrypt will also bring forth the lyrically ability he has to grip his listener by his every word. After 7 years of cultivating his musical talents in Austria he returned and dropped his debut project a mixtape titled For The Wait. The rapper has been featured on projects by local artists such as Paradox, KP Illest, DJ KBoz and Lioness.
The Rhythm and Zotti, the DJ will also sharing their hypnotic groove playing tracks.
