The most anticipated Music award show of the year, set to take place on Saturday in Swakopmund has been the talk of the town of late.
Despite it being centred on music, the award show brings with it a night filled with guests dressed to their nine.
The red carpet is sure to have many glued to their TV sets and mobile screens, all eager to see what most of those who will be there would be dressed in.
Last year, the night was filled with glitz and glamour with celebrities and socialites dressed to slay and some who literally got dressed in 0.5 seconds, resulting in a look that can only be described as ‘lousy’ with no effort put in what so ever.
Walking down memory lane of the NAMAs 2017 and recalling some of the outfits that stood out, there are also those that did not make the cut but which scored brilliantly nevertheless in terms of creativity. There is surely a sense of excitement when it comes to showing up and looking good.
Having had Bonang Matheba who co-hosted the 2017 NAMAs for the first time ever, Queen B as expected appeared exceptionally well dressed by designers Orapeleng Modutle and Namibia’s very own Ruberto Scholtz. Sadly though her Ruberto designed dress had a twin, discovered when Namtwitters FBI’s went in to investigation mode and brought to light that over a number of years, more than three people were dressed in the same dress just in different colour.
Any well-dressed person’s nightmare would be to leave their dressing room, feeling like they will be the talk of the night in terms of having looked amazing only to find the same outfit on someone else.
Never mind the mishaps, moving on to even more pressing looks, The Lounge took it upon ourselves find out what the 2018 red carpet is expected to look like this year.
Beyond a doubt, it is widely expected that the well-known fashion trio that comprises of Jay-Aeron, Reinhald Mahalie and Rumano Fabrishh who have been making headlines of late on the fashion scene would be a team to watch.
Speaking on behalf of the team which is sure to dazzle, Jay Aeron revealed that they would conduct a creative meeting to discuss what they’ll be wearing.
He however further revealed that he plans on renting a suit from a boutique, colour wise he is yet to decide on it but he noted that it would be an androgynous set.
For obvious reasons, coming across those who know just how to pull a certain look without even trying hard is a vision, not to be missed.
Nangula Nanyemba, one of Namibia’s well-dressed fashion female icons is sure to make the ‘Wow’ list this year.
On the grounds of wanting to bring the element of surprise to the day of the event itself, Nanyemba revealed that she too would be going for an intransitive look with chilled dark tone colours.
She aims to go for a simple yet clean look which will have accessories added to it as well.
Having those with the wildest stage presence of all time and sense of style, we cannot shy away from the fact that most would want to know what Female Donkey will be dressed in.
Female Donkey’s fashion statements since the day she first appeared on the scene, is definitely something that she is good at bamboozling us with, as year after year she literally leaves us jaw dropped in disbelief with her crazy artistic looks.
One cannot help but be imaginative with what she will bring forth this year as she explained that she is still in the midst of deciding whether she will attend the show or not.
Other artists and creatives chose to remain silent about their looks as they feel it would take away from the big impression they plan on making during the event.
It is no secret that even after years of the NAMA’s being held, fashion styles have grown and will still continue to grow for years to come.
A more vintage and 90’s look will surely also make its way to the event as it has been a trend that many Namibians have taken a liking off.
