Spring Fiesta pulled out all stops

Local musicians gave revellers a weekend to remember at the annual Windhoek Spring Fiesta, held at Umti Lodge

For the fifth consecutive year the Spring Fiesta, organized by Doctatainment proved once again to be the best musical event of the year.

Themed all white and surrounded by lush green lawns and water features; it was definitely a better place to get down and groovy at this one of a kind music fest. The partygoers were treated to a world of fun, good music and dance offs for Power Play goodies.

With thirteen hours of musical bliss scheduled the activities really started picking up at sunset with Adora creating hype for the crowd with songs from the ‘As I am’ album. Sally Boss Madam also brought the house down with an exhilarating performance of her ‘Natural’ and ‘Boss Madam’ tunes. The excellent star studded line up also included R&B singer Jaleel, D-Jay and the hip-hop duo Paradox.  Gazza was the last to be on set with his ‘Piki Piki’ song and shut down the event in style with a synchronised jump into the pool with his dancers.

Radio personalities, Cheeze and Che shared the stage and kept everyone grooving as they also showed the crowd how it’s done. This year’s event featured an excellent line up of Namibia’s best DJs showcasing the very best in House, R&B and old school. Some of the DJs behind the decks included Cellos Deep, KBoz, Deon, Kadafi, Finetune and the Afroberries.

Doctatainment’s John Cloete expressed satisfaction over the event saying that their expectations were exceeded. “We didn’t expect such a big crowd to come through but we appreciate how everyone responded and adhered to the theme. All in all we have achieved what we wanted as event organizers,” he said.

John revealed that they are considering a bigger venue for next year to accommodate more people.
