Its official, spring has sprung. Yes it has touched down and what a relief it is from those cold winter nights. You have no idea how I dislike being trapped in those heavy sweaters but oh well we’re passed that now, at least for the next seven months or so.
I don’t know about you but I have been looking forward to this season, partly because the torturing cold weather has left but mostly because it’s one of my favourite times of the year. First of all everything is in bloom! It’s the time of year when nature starts to shake off the holds of winter. Trees, bushes and flowers all start to bud don’t even get me started on the chirping of birds all around. Nature abounds and that’s enjoyable to see.
Spring also comes with a warmer weather, the fresh breeze that greets you in the morning and the overall increase in happiness of everyone makes it all phenomenal. Oh speaking of phenomena, spring is one season that symbolises new life when trees and plants are beginning to turn green, when the earth reawakens from her slumber and explodes with new life and when the sun shines brighter and the flowers are blooming.
It’s also a season of hope like Lutho vuso had said “The warm weather is also a promise that even the difficulties we experience eventually come to pass. It may be cold one season, but it always gets warm in the next season.” However, there is more to spring than just flowers and cooler weather. It is one season that symbolises fresh beginings, a season of spring cleaning our lives and carrying forth with new ideas. There is nothing more refreshing and renewing than going through your life emotionally and physically, and deciding what to keep and what to get rid of.
It’s a time to do a thorough and complete clean up of those parts of your life that accumulate stuff that just don’t serve a purpose in your life anymore. Toxicity and clutter come in all shapes and sizes, those old and outdated habits, lifestyle choices and friends who cause just as much harm or mental clutter you name it all.
How we feel when we spring clean our homes when winter is over, when we pack away warm blankets and invite some freshness into our homes is the same way one would feel when they let go of those things in life that no longer serve them. It’s about getting everything organized and setting goals, purging all of the unnecessary things that are not moving you towards the vision that you have for your life.
So this spring, make sure you’re setting yourself up for success by getting rid of the dead weight in your life. Embrace the people and things that allow you to think positively and love yourself, and cut ties with toxic acquaintances that put you in a gloomy mental state. Even taking little steps to organizing your life will help you reach your goals, because a little can go a long way.
OK, I understand that most people refer to spring as summer but it needs to sink in guys. Spring exists and it’s a three month season just like any other season. Here’s to new beginnings that are beautiful, powerful, impactful, joyful, meaningful and successful!
