Emerging artists have come and gone but only a few have cemented their place in the industry. These are the likes of Young T, Monique English, Promise, Florence and many others. Well, the likes of Ethnix graced the industry with hope in 2014 when they performed at the NAMAs and silence followed thereafter. The Lounge has it that they are back and with their new single title ‘Omutima,’ any music lover will tell you that this time their music has matured.
The duo is a make-up of Page and Esho who blend very well to Namibianise the genres HipHop and RnB, something we can all relate to. Esho brings in the vocals, the sugar while Page brings in the rap. The two were discovered by Araffath and were hence signed under 777 recorded where they blossomed with their hit song ‘Lambela.’
After a long break, Page of Ethnic says they are now back and have grown to know the industry very well. They have been keeping on a low bar performing at shows including fashion shows like that of Maria Nepembe and others.
“We have been working and studying and that is what kept us away from music for some time. We are now back full time. We are bringing a new and matured sound of Ethnix. We have gained more experience and have been introduced to the right people. Our sound is more matured and the content is meaningful,” said Page.
Now working with producer Andrew, Page says that Namibians should look out for nothing but good music. They new song ‘Omutima’ has captured the hearts of music lovers.
The duo say they will be dropping their album by the end of the year but a few videos will be dropping before the undisclosed date. “What we want to do is to see Namibian music taken serious out there. We need to be recognized for our talents outside the borders.”
