Its official, the town of Walvis Bay will make history by hosting the prestigious Namibian Annual Music Awards for the first time. Priding itself as an “Oasis of Opportunity” and described as the jewel in the desert, the harbor town of Walvis Bay is this year’s host town for the 7th edition of NAMA. The 2017 NAMAs will take place in Walvis Bay at the Namibia Development Corporation building situated in the Walvis Bay Extension 2 area. The building is called the !Nara Namib Industrial and Logistics Estate Building in Trekkopje Street about half a kilometre from the circle on the way to the airport. “We are excited about hosting the NAMAs in Walvis Bay for the very first time. We have always maintained that this is a truly Namibian event, and we are prepared to take it to any town that complies with the basic requirements allowing us to host the event successfully. The leadership of Walvis Bay understands the importance that such big events play in the local economy and reputation of the town and have therefore embraced it with both hands, we thank them for their visionary leadership and allowing their residents to enjoy a truly world class event” said Tim Ekandjo. “We encourage the residents from Walvis Bay and the entire Erongo region to be part of history by attending the event in Walvis Bay. It is fitting that the ceremony will take place at a venue, named after a uniquely indigenous plant found only in Walvis Bay district, the! Nara plant and the Namib Desert, names that profoundly carry our heritage and legacy stressed Immanuel. Tickets for the 2017 NAMAs will go on sale at WebTickets Namibia and customers can buy them at any Pick n Pay stores at Wernhill Park, Auas Valley, Swakopmund and Walvis Bay. Customers can also buy online via the website at www.webtickets.com.na with their debit card, credit card or EFT payments. You can also book online and pay at the selected outlets at any cashier in Swakopmund, Auas Valley, B1 City, Katutura, Mega Centre, Wernhill Park, Ongwediva or Katima Mulilo. General seated tickets sell for only N$250 while VIP tickets sell for only N$500. Limited Golden Circle standing tickets will be available for only N$120 each. The 7th Namibian Annual Music awards will take place on Friday 28th April (Invitation only Industry Awards) and Saturday 29th April (Main awards) 2017.
