Multichoice joins Team Namibia

MultiChoice Namibia (Pty) Ltd recently became a member of Team Namibia, in support of the national movement aimed at mobilising Namibian consumers to buy local as well as driving the promotion of the production of quality local products and services.
“Since the launch of the joint venture between MultiChoice and Kalahari Holdings nearly a quarter of a century ago, the leading video entertainment provider built a strong track record of Namibian operations.  MultiChoice Namibia (MCN) received its transmission licence on 16 December 1991 and subsequently began broadcasting from Windhoek via terrestrial transmission, which soon expanded to 23 transmission sites across the country,” Multichoice said in a statement this week.
In terms of its national footprint, MultiChoice Namibia currently operates from two offices in Windhoek as well as branches in Ongwediva and Swakopmund.  The network is supported by 13 agents, 115 accredited installer companies and a robust network of Namibian retailers countrywide.
Roger Gertze, General Manager of MultiChoice Namibia, commented:  “We are excited to support the ‘growth at home’ drive through Team Namibia, and endeavour to play our part for the Team in our capacity as a local service provider and responsible corporate citizen alike.  In line with our purpose of enriching lives, MCN actively contributes to the socio-economic development of Namibia through our business and corporate social investment activities, and we adhere to the regulatory requirements for the broadcasting industry set out by the Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN).”
In turn, Roberta da Costa, Chief Executive Officer of Team Namibia, commented: “In the spirit of Harambee, Team Namibia members support the country’s national objective of sustained economic growth.  We are delighted to continuously grow our membership by welcoming another corporate business on board.”
